I’ve never been to Jamaica, but I suppose this is as close as I will get to it for now. The cake we made in class today, Jamaïque, translates to Jamaica. Perhaps it’s because we used ingredients like coconut, mango and passionfruit? Other countries incorporate these ingredients…why can’t it be called Thaïlande? Les Français sont bizarres.
I was hoping for more fresh fruit options for decor but alas, I only had canned pineapples (ick!) and strawberries. So I made a fleur, which I’ve done before at home on my chiffon cakes, however in this case it was difficult to stand the berry slices upright in the jelly glaze. Oy. Berries no like jelly.
